And its light is partially covered by the lens when shooting macro. So I tried the EF-20 and I'm very happy with this decision.
It is pretty light and fully compatible with the camera's TTL functions. With the guide number 20, TTL functions + EV adjustment, retractable wide panel, bounce lighting by turning the flash up to 90� it offers the same plus a lot more than the built-in flash.
And you can even turn it down for macro shooting. Combined with the wide panel and an -1EV adjustment I got some pretty good close-ups.
To put it into the camera bag you can completely retract the raspy hot-shoe. Great.
The only kink is the shutter speed dial of the X100 being partially covered by the lock ring. With the flash at normal position you are able to turn it by the thumb but the set speed must be monitored by LCD or viewfinder. Anyway, this sole negative point cannot disturb my fun with this... Works, but head does not rotate, December 17, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Fujifilm EF-20 Shoe Mount Flash (Electronics) Works OK, control system is simple, but the head does not rotate for bounce. The low-profile design is good for keeping the camera reasonably compact (I use it on an X100), but that also means there is more red-eye. Better than nothing, but not as many features as a Canon flash on a Canon DSLR (even when comparing compact flashes). To be fair, part of that limitation is likely camera related.
