Yongnuo YN-467 Flash Speedlite Dedicated E-TTL for Canon DSLR Cameras Reviews
22 of 23 people found the following review helpful For $99, I am impressed!, December 18, 2010 By MAGIC KOALA (Los Angeles) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Yongnuo YN-467 Flash Speedlite Dedicated E-TTL for Canon DSLR Cameras (Electronics) I initially got this to use as an off-camera flash to hang as a hairlight off a boom. It has an optical flash trigger but I was going to rig it with a Cyber Sync receiver, and have it fire at the same time with two Alien Bees. When I received the package, I had expected a very cheap build and some really inferior material. In fact, I was a bit disturbed when I heard rattling from within the unit but it turned out to be the silica packet in the battery compartment. I never expected it to use as an on-camera flash as I never dreamed of replacing my 430EX II with it, but since I had nothing better to do, I decided to try it out with my T2i. Well, even more of a surprise is that it actually works quite well with my T2i. The camera immediately recognizes it and sets the max sync speed, I can even control exposure compensation from within the camera. My opinion is that the flash is somewhat weaker than the 430EX but it illuminates everything that is needed. I really liked the built in... Read more
10 of 10 people found the following review helpful Great E-TTL alternative to Canon's expensive flashes, July 27, 2011 By Adam Walpert (Upper Saddle River, NJ United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Yongnuo YN-467 Flash Speedlite Dedicated E-TTL for Canon DSLR Cameras (Electronics) I bought this as a cheap alternative to Canon's flashes, and this delivers high build quality and high feature content. The 4 modes work as described, although the the exposure compensation as dialed in on the flash unit in TTL mode is not so intuitive to me (though it does work). Recycle time is very fast with NiMH batteries. The shoe mount is metal (which may be true only on recently produced examples?) There is also a built in diffuser and white bounce card, and the AF assist light is bright (red/infrared) but only works with the center AF point. There is also power zoom, which works, but as far as I can tell there is no manual zoom to account for bounce flash...though in TTL mode this should have only a very minimal difference in photos.
Compared the YN-465, this model features Slave modes, and compared to the YN-468, this one lacks a screen and manual flash zoom. Compared to Canon's flashes, this model lacks the ability to do TTL metering wirelessly, and its... Read more
11 of 12 people found the following review helpful cant find a better flash for this price, or twice that, April 30, 2011 By thomman "gadgetfreak" (WI,USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Yongnuo YN-467 Flash Speedlite Dedicated E-TTL for Canon DSLR Cameras (Electronics) I have been shooting with DSLRs for 7 years now. The first 6 of those, I shot with "nothing other than natural light" mindset, using primarily a canon 50mm f/1.4. A year back, I started looking into flash photography, and wanted an inexpensive flash to try things out. As I do often I read around, especially at Photography On The Net forum. Everyone recommended Yongnuo, not because it is cheap, but because it is capable. You will find stories of pros selling their Canon 4xx series flashes to buy 2 of these and remote triggers.
Anyway, I took the plunge (ordered at that time from the biggest auction site - it wasnt available at Amazon at the time), and I couldn't be happier. Flash photography is so useful, especially indoors, that I wish I had gone that way sooner. It works flawlessly on my Canon 50D. I shoot in M mode whenever I use flash (set 1/100 or shorter exposure time, aperture f/2-f/4 on my 50mm f/1.4, iso 100-200), and I almost always bounce the flash on the roof or... Read more
