YN-465: Underrated gem for Nikon beginners, May 13, 2012 By Nanotubeman (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Yongnuo Digital Speedlite Flash YN465 for Nikon DSLR Camera (Electronics) The YN-465 has been my indoor must-haves on my D40 and D90 for more than two years and I have to say this is the most underrated product given its price and strong feature set. It was one of the few third party flashes that supports Nikon's iTTL system, which automatically meters and adjusts the flash output power so your subject is always exposed correctly. As my baby grew I found most of my shots were indoors and even fast f1.8 lens were not cutting it sometimes due to poor lighting. I had to keep using ISO1600 and 1/60 seconds and grew tired of the noise and inability to freeze motion. I read quite a few reviews about speedlights and ended up purchasing this from a seller in Hong Kong three years ago. I'm glad there are a lot more sellers now and it is even available with the wonderful Amazon Prime service as well.
How I use it: On camera for bounce-lights most of the time. That is, I turn the head towards the ceiling or a nearby wall to uniformly light the whole room... Read more

It's got TTL for Nikon(or there's a Cannon model, too) and simple controls. One dial sets the flash to TTL or one of seven levels for manual flash. Great refresh, a bounce card and diffuser lens, fully poseable and it has a focus assist light. All for about $75. Real good product. I'll probably buy more accessories from Yongnuo, soon.
