Amazing alternative to costly brand name, March 3, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Yongnuo Flash Speedlite Yn-460ii for Nikon Canon Pentax (Electronics) I purchased an SB-600 (I have a D90) from BestBuy just to get a feel for off camera flash photography. Just so happens that I got a faulty item. Absolutely nothing against Nikon... I just happened to get one that didn't work. But it worked out great for me in the end. That night I researched alternatives and came upon YN's product line. I ordered two YN-460ii's, and two sets of YN RF-602 radio triggers/receivers (it's only $6 less for a receiver alone). The total for the two flashes and the two sets of radio triggers/receivers came to $60 less than what I paid for the single SB-600. Of course there's no CLS capability with the YN's... but I now have radio triggers/receivers taking line of sight out of the equation.
Un-boxed everything thinking there would be at least one faulty item somewhere in the mix, but was relieved to find everything working perfectly. Fired off at least a hundred flashes tonight without any issues. Amazing alternative to the pricier versions... Read more

It's like a strobist was actually on the product development team.
Pros:
- Metal shoe, I've busted and replaced many shoes on name brand units, this one is indestructible.
- LONG timeout, self shut off is 30 or 60min depending on mode, my silly sb-28's would go into standby every few min when i changed the batteries
- Dead simple, button controls. The nikons are complicated, the vivitars are not buttons
- Great swivel
- Nice flip down diffuser
- Nice stand with needed threaded hole
- BUILT IN SLAVE! that saves you $10 right there, and it's intelligent to work with iTTL pre-flashes
- Fast recharge, you can hear the very unusual switching charging circuit.
- Entertaining manual when read aloud thanks to automated translation.
Cons
- no shoe lock
- no pc cord socket

Not bad if you're on a budget, April 20, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Yongnuo Flash Speedlite Yn-460ii for Nikon Canon Pentax (Electronics) I received my 460II 2 days earlier than the anticipated date, which was pretty cool.
When I took the flash out of the box I noted that there were already a few minor scratches on it, but I found that the flash worked very well for the $44 or so I paid for it at the time so I didn't think it was a big deal. But unfortunately 2 days later it died. All of the lights would come on, but the Pilot button would remain red, and never turn green, so I couldn't actually fire the flash. I did some brief reading online which indicated that it was likely a faulty flux capacitor that was the problem and could be easily fixed.
I understand this section is for reviewing the product itself and not the vendor, but since this particular product page appears to be directly related to BestDealsUSA distribution of the item I'm going to add it here.
Being that I'd just purchased the device and it would still be under warranty I contacted the seller, in this case BestDealUSA... Read more
