LumiQuest UltraStrap LQ-126 Reviews
7 of 7 people found the following review helpful It costs a little more and it's worth it., March 24, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: LumiQuest UltraStrap LQ-126 (Electronics) This is the second "flash accessory mounting strap" I bought in a few days. The first was the Opteka CL-1 Clinch Band for Diffusers, Softboxes, and Light Modifiers because it was less expensive. Because of some limitations which I've discussed in my review of that product I bought this strap. Looking at the two, side-by-side, I prefer this strap. Here is why:
- Backing, the part that is against your flash, is sufficiently tacky to keep the strap from sliding around.
- The stretchyness makes for a very secure hold
- The thinness keeps the strap out of the way of my flash head
While the Opteka strap is far from useless I doubt I'll ever use it now that I have this one.
BTW, I feel that honest, effective reviews can take the place of first-hand experiences that are lacking in... Read more
6 of 7 people found the following review helpful LumiQuest Diffusers NEED the Strap, November 8, 2011 By This review is from: LumiQuest UltraStrap LQ-126 (Electronics) If you are going to buy a LumiQuest diffuser for your flash, then you will want this strap (or any velcro strap). LumiQuest wants you to use adhesives on your flash, but I think that's ridiculous. What if you want to change diffusers? Then your STUCK with the adhesive velcro.
I've been using my LumiQuest diffuser with this strap for 6 months now. This strap stays in place very well. I've not experienced any incident with the strap coming loose or the diffuser ripping the strap off my flash. I did not try or look for any other brand of straps, but this one works well enough.
The fact that you actually have to buy this strap is the only con I can come up with. I believe LumiQuest should include this in your purchase.
2 of 2 people found the following review helpful Perfect for quickly attaching gels, etc, January 30, 2012 By Paul G. (Columbia, MD) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: LumiQuest UltraStrap LQ-126 (Electronics) I purchased this based on a review I read on This Week in Photo and am pleased with the construction and ease of installation. I keep it on my Sony flash all the time (it doesn't add significantly to the diameter of the flash head when storing in the flash cover I use). Since I do interior lighting and use multiple flash heads on stands I'm going to purchase a couple more to expand my creative lighting techniques.
