The FL-220 mates perfectly with the LX-3. It's sleek and light, just like the camera. It locks on the hot shoe securely with no wobbles. When I first got the flash, I experimented with settings to get the right balance of f-stop and shutter speed as my first plans are to use it for interior photography during events. My preference is for slow synch with the interior lighting to be visible and not totally dark. I will probably use it for people shots with a diffuser on the flash. I am using NiMH batteries to get the maximum number of flashes. A great feature is that I can adjust the power of the flash through the camera menu, plus or minus.

I bought this flash to use with the Olympus E-P1. Together the TTL flash works flawlessly, however I have yet to figure out a way to use SuperFocalPlane flash yet.
To answer some inquiries, this flash has a fix head, just like the Olympus Fl-20. It WILL NOT BOUNCE nor swivel, so it's kind of a let down. However, the GuideNumber is already low, so bouncing is not a great option.

I purchased this flash to solve 2 problems: to better illuminate the subject and replace the camera's internal flash which has its light partially blocked by the the Panasonic wide angle conversion lens I use.
I am very pleased with the Panasonic DMW-FL220 flash. It works well with my 18 mm wide angle lens, it is cost effective, small and easily portable and generates decent lighting for taking pictures of homes (I'm a real estate broker).
I use a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 camera with a Wide Angle Conversion Lens, DMW-LWA52, which screws into a 52mm conversion lens adapter. The width of the Wide Angle Conversion lens blocks part of the built in flash's light.
